Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Thea's rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Sypnosis
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover they share a special friendship- that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.
Why I Loved Adored It!?
THIS BOOK! Where do I even begin my journey in describing this masterpiece? (God! Thea chill babes! Maybe try...the beginning!!😂)
Right okay, let's try this again shall we?!
Aristotle and Dante is a book I hold very dearly yet is a book that I will lend out time and time again to anyone who shows even the slightest interest. IT'S JUST THAT GOOD! I bought this book with the sole purpose of taking it on a week long trip with me- although, it is a good thing that I took more than just this book because I managed to get through this in a single day. From the moment I set my eyes upon the cover I just knew I would love it!
The book is told from the perspective of the main character Aristotle- Ari- as he meets Dante and they begin to grow and mature together. Set over the course of two summers, the boys begin to grow closer and discover more about themselves and the true meaning of friendship.
That is all the detail I will go into here as this is a spoiler free review BUT I will say that if you are on the fence with deciding whether or not to buy this book, BUY IT. I promise you will not regret it, I didn't.
Story time!!!!
I actually lent this book out to my best friend recently. She is really into reading and when I found out she hadn't read it yet I knew it was my mission to get her to read it. I just knew she would love it! However I have a habit of marking out my favourite lines while I read, so when I gave her the book I included a little post-it note explaining why I done this and that she could feel free to mark on my book also (which I don't normally do because like my books are PRECIOUS). Low and behold she loved the book! She also took full advantage of my offer of marking out the book and now if I flick through the pages its's like a rainbow! I love it!!!!10/10 would recommend!
