Poetry// Secrets of a Starry Eyed Girl by Thea

Hey!
So I decided (with the help of some good friends) that I would also use this blog to share some of my own work.  Whenever my emotions get too much I write poetry. Sometimes it turns out good and other times not so much but its still my work and I am proud of it. Before now I have never really shared my poems so publicly.

Anyways, I have attached one of my poems below!

Thea

Secrets of a Starry Eyed Girl

Two A.M.
The moonlight her only companion in the darkness.
She watches as the stars above her
Assert their dominance in the ocean of shadows that surround her.
She watches the moons worried face looking down on her,

She waits,
Wondering why the beautiful calmness of dusk wont calm her restless mind
Actually she knows why.

She's afraid to admit
That the only reason she loves the stars so much
Is because,
They are all she can see when she looks into the eyes
Of the girl she loves.

And she is ashamed,
Ashamed because she was always told that
"The moon can't shine without the sun,"

She can't change facts
But she,
Can't change.
So she sits,
Silently.
And hopes that she can live her life
Loving the moon,
Without being blinded by the sun.
