Book Blog Newbie Tag
Hey guys it's Thea!
I was planning to start my next review for you all when I came across this awesome tag and realised that you know nothing about me. Well you know I like books. I figured the best thing to do was to complete the questions to help you to get a little insight into the hectic life of Thea the book blogger (ya get me? haha). I promise I'll have another review up soon!!
Without further ado, lets get into it!...
1. Why did you start this blog?
Honestly? I was going through a really tough time and realised that I was letting my life revolve around my schoolwork and as result I had stopped doing the things that brought joy into my life (reading being one of them)😔. That's when I begun to formulate a plan... if I blogged about the books I read, not only would it count as an extra curricular to let my mind focus elsewhere but it would also give me an excuse to start reading for pleasure again!
Not many of my friends read. Unfortunately. And any that do have slightly different tastes than I do- except from one but I can hardly count on one person to listen to my book rants over and over and over again- can I? (I want to keep her as a friend not turn spending time with me into literal emotional torture 😂).
So I guess that's why!
2.What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?
I don't think of myself as original but I do believe that reading should be fun and I will do everything in my power to at least bring you- my readers- a little bit of joy with all of my little stories and excessive use of parenthesis (because my sarcastic side comments are SOOO necessary). I guess that's all I can do really. I will always try my best!
3. What are you most excited about for this new blog?
I am looking forward to getting more involved in the book community! Reading has been in my life for as long as I can remember but I have never shared my opinions with a wider circle than my family and close friends.
I am also looking forward to seeing my blog develop as I learn to grow within the community and try new things!
4. Why do you love reading?
The real question here is why WOULDN'T I love reading!?
In all seriousness though, reading is an escape from reality. No matter what is going on or where you are, if you have a book you can go on a mission with Alec Lightwood, watch as Kaz Brekker makes his infamous scheming face or live the final day with Mateo and Rufus! Reading is a journey of the imagination and I couldn't imagine my life without it.
5. What book/series got you into reading?
All the bright places by Jennifer Niven.
After I finished that book I cried for days. Never before had I experienced that kind of emotion for a fictional character, from that moment on I was hooked!
6. What question/s would you ask your favourite authors?
If I was a character in your book, how would you describe me?
7. What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
Without a doubt- time and consistency! I will try my best...I promise! But balancing exams and a blog is difficult- doable but difficult.
8. When did you start reading?
I started reading properly when I was very young. My dad bought me Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' and we read it together (I still have that copy in my bookshelf from all those year ago). Reading then was more about expanding my vocabulary but years later after reading 'All the Bright Places' it became a way of life for me. I have not regretted a moment spent reading since that day.
9. Where do you read?
I mostly read physical books in my bedroom, on my bed or my reading chair with a cosy blanket and some snacks! Occasionally I will read in the living room with the same routine though. However, I listen to audio books anywhere and everywhere!
10.What kind of books do you read?
Mostly YA romance or fantasy novels. The majority of my books have the common denominator of an LGBT theme. My favourite author at the moment is Leigh Bardugo- 'Six of Crows' amazing! Oh my god!🙌.
I guess that's me! I hope that gave you a bit of an insight into the not so mysterious life of Thea the reading blogger!
Feel free to comment below with any future suggestions for my blog!
Heyy, I really did love reading this and your last post I myself love to read. I'm a very shy person so I love books more than people (I apologize if that sounds rude). I am so excited for more reviews because I can extend my book wish list!! I do have one question however, I am not sure if you put it on your blog but what is your favorite book? Mine is The Book Thief. Well can't wait for more from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, your comment means so much!!
DeleteI am also a very shy person who prefers books over people (well most people) so don't worry about sounding rude haha!
My favourite book is probably either Six of Crows or All the Bright Places. I can't choose between them because they are so different and are each amazing in their own ways! Although I have never read The Book Thief- would you recommend it?
Don't worry I will have more reviews coming soon!!
